Thanks for commenting, I think you're referring to was it them or me first, the first person to use MUICBRICK was me. They found out about my website through my trademark application.

As a 'pending' trade mark prior to being accepted, it's posted onto internet for opposition to be lodged. A bit like when an extension to a house is proposed, then the council planning will see if there is any opposition to it by printing newspapers etc.

I posted as much information in my blog about what else is out there right now, just to give some indication or inclination as to why they want to oppose mine.

One reason is; they feel in the classes I've outlined in my application which they've highlighted (on the scans I've uploaded in the last blog) my classes overlap onto theirs. In the one and only letter I've sent back to them through my trademark solicitor; I've explained I'm more than happy to change some of the detail in my trademark application to alleviate any concerns they may have.

And the second reason; they may feel the 1.4 billion dollars spent on music in America in 2007 is an area they're considering moving into.

Oviously I see things through my eyes and have no idea what thier plans are. I could be barking up the wrong tree and they could be absolutley right. The EU commmision, sitting over trademarks, would decide on that. But and it's a big but, I cannot afford to go down that route... letter after letter £200-£300 a pop! My lawyer explained this could be over after this letter or it could cost about £2000, but if they win and they come for costs and damages as well. Ha!

I'm hoping my one letter back to them, is enough to put thier minds at rest... It's a long reply but hope this expalins it a little better.
For me, almost every song ever recorded has meant something to someone in the world.

I like the idea of reading what David Bowie singing Heroes, Little Richard singing Lucille or The human League singing Fascination (I'm showing my age) meant to people, the clothes, hairstyles, nightclubs, the things that were happening around that time... maybe I'm just nosey but when music is concerned I love the stories and the craic
